For donors who wish to make gifts of stock, updated stock transfer information is below.
It is important that notification be given to the Office of Philanthropy Operations prior to the transfer of any stock gifts to ensure that the gift is properly identified and credited to the correct donor and account.
The date of the gift is the date that the shares transfer into UMB’s account.
Donors may also give mutual funds, but additional steps, time, and separate instructions are required.

For donors wishing to make a wire transfer or ACH payment, information is below.

Donors who own a traditional IRA and who are age 70 1/2 or older can make charitable gifts tax-free directly from the IRA, up to $100,000 per person per year. To make a gift of any amount from an IRA, you should contact the IRA administrator to complete a qualified charitable distribution form. On that form, please write University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation [EIN 31-1678679], 220 Arch St., 13th Floor, Baltimore MD 21201, and put SAFE Center in the gift designation.
Donors can recommend grants to the SAFE Center through a donor advised fund, directing the gift to University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation [EIN 31-1678679], 220 Arch St., 13th Floor, Baltimore MD 21201, and naming the SAFE Center in the grant designation.
Gifts to the University of Maryland SAFE Center are administered by the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
