Jatnna Gomez Appointed to Prince George’s Co. Commission for Women

SAFE Center Director of Equity and Community Partnerships, Jatnna Gomez, was confirmed this July by the Prince George’s County Council to serve a 2-year term on the Commission for Women. The Commission, established by the Council in 1972, was created to improve the quality of life for women and girls by advocating, initiating, and championing programs and legislation to strengthen families and communities. Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks appoints citizens who have demonstrated a commitment to service and work to advance women’s rights in the community.

On July 5th, Jatnna was confirmed by the County Council at Large after a hearing in front of the Health, Human Services and Public Safety (HHSPS) Committee. Over the next two years, she will work in one of four committees within the commission. During her term, Jatnna aims to continue her work on community development, with a focus on equity and partnership building.
